Interim Release at ICC Denied by Appeals Chamber
Earlier this year, in a rather bold ruling, a Single Judge of a Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court, Ekaterina Trendafilova, decided to grant interim release to one of the accused, Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo: http://www.icc-cpi.int/iccdocs/doc/doc727230.pdf. The unresolved problem was finding a country willing to take him. But in the meantime, the decision was appealed. Yesterday, the Appeals Chamber reversed the decision: http://www.icc-cpi.int/iccdocs/doc/doc787666.pdf.
